Division of Press and  Public Relation

The Public Relations Division is responsible for dissemination of information concerning the activities of the structural entities of the MoJ. It organizes briefings and press-conferences of the Minister and staff of the MoJ, presentation of the projects carried out by the MoJ and disseminate information on implementation of those projects. The Department also disseminates information on major meetings held in the Ministry, as well as official statements the Ministry. The Department prepares press-releases concerning the on-going events in the structural entities of the ministry.
The Press-Office operatively renders assistance to journalists to get information or comment from the Ministry. The Press Office also determines the credibility of information at its disposal and, if necessary, corrects false information. The office organizes interviews of journalists with high officials of the Ministry. Finally, the Press Office helps journalists extract information from the pubic registry (information on registration of parties, funds, unions, licenses, laws, etc).

Any person can get on-line information from the Office concerning the structural entities of the Ministry and its activities. Also, the office gives answers to questions put by citizens via the papers.

For years, the MoJ has been engaged in the lawmaking process of the country. Its function is vital in the development of a country adhering to the rule of law. The MoJ greatly contributes to the development of a new country based on democratic principles.

There is special importance attached to activities of legal state organs in the process of developing of democracy, introduction and strengthening of values, such as rule of law and justice. Having attached the special importance to democratic reforms, the MoJ gained a new functional meaning. Furthermore, the MoJ became a focal point of legal reforms.

In the process of formation of legal state special importance is drawn to accuracy of legislation. In this context, the MoJ is a primary organ.

21 structural entities (department, office), 2 Subordinated unit, four legal persons of public law within the governance of the MoJ, territorial organs of the MoJ, as well as the MoJs of Abkhazia and Adjaria are responsible to carry out tasks charged to the MoJ.
