The Legal Department is structural unit of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia which performs following duties:

• Coordination of the Ministry representation during dispute settlement in the courts;
• Analyzes, registers the judicial cases related to the Ministry and creates information database;
 

The Department also gives visa to draft laws and examines administrative complaints addressed to the Ministry; and
 

• The Department provides other administrative bodies with legal aid;
• The Department is responsible for the transparency of public information;
• The Department also fulfils other duties imposed by the Minister or Deputy Ministers within the jurisdiction of the Ministry.
