The Session of the
Criminal Justice Reform Inter Agency Coordinating Council
On 2 July, 2009 the Ministry of Justice hosted the third session of
the Criminal Justice Reform Inter-Agency Coordinating Council
co-chaired by the Miniser of Justice – Zurab Adeishvili and the
Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance – Dimitri Shashkin. The
Council session was attended by the representatives of EC Delegation
to Georgia as well as representatives of legislative and
governmental bodies of Georgia, non-governnmental and international
organizations.more

Inter Agency Coordinating Council
On 18 May, 2009 the session of the Criminal Justice Reform
Inter-Agency Coordinating Council was held at the Ministry of
Justice of Georgia, attended by the Miniser of Justice – Zurab
Adeishvili, Minister of Corrections and Legal Aid – Dimitri Shashkin,
Head of the EC delegation to Georgia – H.E. Per Eklund, as well as
representatives of legislative and governmental bodies of Georgia,

Information
concerning the beating of the journalist, Nikoloz Avaliani and
the replacement of the measure of constraint in respect to the
accused persons
On the basis of the motion of the Patriarch of
Georiga, Melor Vachnadze, Giorgi oniani, Revaz Revazishvili,
persons accused for the beating of the journalist Nikoloz Avaliani,
, have been subject to the replacement of the measure of constraint
and released from the imprisonment.

The Meeting with the Ministry of Justice
and EC Delegation
On 6 May, 2009, the
meeting with the Minister of Justice of Georgia Zurab Adeishvili and
Head of the EC Delegation in Georgia Ambassador Per Eklund was held
at the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. The meeting was attended by
the Minster of Corrections and Legal Aid Issues Dimitri Shashkin and
other representatives of EC Delegation and Ministry of Justice of
Georgia.
The meeting was
dedicated to a new EU-funded project “Capacity Building in Support
of Rule of Law in Georgia” (implementation organization – Hulla & Co
Human Dynamics KG) launched on 6 May, 2009 in Tbilisi. This project
is the continuation of the EU support to the justice sector reforms
in Georgia. The duration of the project will be 30 months with total
value of Euros 2.7 m. It will continue the support provided through
the past 2,5 years by another the EU-funded project “Support to the
Reform of the Ministry of Justice”.more

Contest for Vacant Position in Lagodekhi
Office of the CRA
The Civil Registry Agency of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia has
announced a contest for a vacant position of a head of the Division
of Civil Acts Registration of Lagodekhi office.
Requirements of the contest: the higher education, 2-3 years of
working experience, computer skills, knowledge of legislation
regulating the CRA activity.
