The Minister of Justice Held Meetings in the Council of Europe
Through 22-23 November 2012, the Minister of Justice of Georgia held meetings in the Council of Europe. The first set of the meetings were held with the President of the European Court of Human Rights, the Registrar of the Court, several judges and the representatives of the Registry dealing with the Georgian cases.

Tbilisi Public Service Hall will be opened today
The most extensive and innovative Public Service Hall was opened in Tbilisi
On September 21, the largest Service center in the world - the Public Service Hall was opened in Tbilisi, on the embankment area. A modern building designed by the famous Italian architect Massimilliano Fuksas, total area of which is 32 000 square meters, was opened by the President of Georgia Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili. The event was attended by members of the legislative, executive, and judicial authorities as well as Georgian and international non-governmental organizations, representatives of embassies and diplomatic missions accredited in Georgia, and journalists. Lots of guests arrived in Georgia specifically to take part in the event.
Statement of the Prosecutors' Office
On September 20th, in the process of an ongoing investigation involving employees of the Penitentiary Department, law enforcement agencies arrested one more suspect: Koba Chikvatia, Duty Officer of the Juvenile Section in Gldani Penitentiary Facility #8. He is accused of committing a crime against a juvenile.
Statement of the Prosecutors' Office
The Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the cases of torture (Article 1441) and inhuman and degrading treatment (Article 1443), allegedly committed by the employees of the Penitentiary Department. A total of ten employees of the Department were arrested. One officer was charged in absentia. He was declared wanted. Investigation is in progress in order to establish identities of other suspects
Community Development Center was opened in Shashiani
Today, the first Community Development Center was opened in the village of Shashiani, Gurjaani district. Guests of the Shashiani Community Development Center were Minister of Justice of Georgia Mr. Zurab Adeishvili, and Minister of Labour, Health and Social Affairs Mr. Zurab Tchiaberashvili together with local residents. The opening ceremony was attended by Head of the State Services Development Agency Mr. Giorgi Gabrielashvili, representatives of the local self-government, and heads of the private companies.
