The Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the cases of torture (Article 144¹) and inhuman and degrading treatment (Article 144³), allegedly committed by the employees of the Penitentiary Department.  A total of ten employees of the Department were arrested.  One officer was charged in absentia.  He was declared wanted.  Investigation is in progress in order to establish identities of other suspects. 

Based on the information received from the Financial Monitoring Service (FMS) at the National Bank of Georgia, the investigation was opened into the crime of alleged legalization of illegal income i.e. money laundering.

On June 20, 2012, investigation was opened into the crime of vote-buying committed though illegal distribution of satellite antennas -effectively free of charge-on behalf of Georgian Dream in exchange for a commitment to vote for Georgian Dream in the upcoming parliamentary elections. In the course of the investigation, Prosecutors' Office obtained authorization from the Tbilisi City Court and on June 21, 2012, sealed the antennas stored at the warehouses of Elita Burji Ltd. and other companies affiliated to a political coalition Georgian Dream coalition.

In the course of the investigation opened on June 20, 2012 into the crime of vote-buying, Maestro Ltd, under the instructions of Elita Burji Ltd - a company associated to Georgian Dream Coalition, has recently imported thousands of satellite antennas.

The selection process of employees for the Community Development Center of the Ministry of Justice is completed. After the five-day training sessions were ended, applicants underwent testing.

Construction works of the Community Development Center started in Khashuri district, village of Gomi within the framework of a new initiative of the Civil Registry Agency of the Ministry of Justice, which aims at establishing of e-governance in local self-governments.

On June 29, investigation was launched into the fact of voter-buying by certain representatives of Fund "Cartu" (according to Article 164¹of the Criminal Code of Georgia)

While investigating vote buying by the Komagi Fund, which is affiliated with the political party "Georgian Dream," a significant number of suspicious money transfers from abroad to private bank accounts of Georgian citizens registered with Komagi for support were discovered.

On June 20, 2012, investigation was opened into the crime of vote-buying under Article 164¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

In the course of the ongoing investigation into the vote-buying committed by activists of a political coalition "Georgian Dream," Grigol Ambroladze, Mikheil Meskhi and Mikheil Amashukeli were interrogated at the Imereti Main Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
