The  Department of Justice of Autonomous Republic of Adjara is part of Ministry of Justice of Georgia and it's main functions are to: 

a) Prepare recommendations on projects of normative acts of Autonomous Republic of Adjara and issue legal opinion about compliance with acting legislation. 

b) Registration and carry out state registry of normative acts which are accepted by local authority of  Autonomous Republic of Adjara.

c) Legal expertise and compliance with acting legislations of normative acts, issued in territory of Autonomous Republic of Adjara. 

d) Coordination of activity of  territorial offices of Ministry of Justice of Georgia on Autonomous Republic of Adjara.

e) Receive  and prepare documents for further consideration to the Ministry of Justice of Georgia issued on the territory of  Autonomous Republic of Adjara, which are requested for submission abroad.

Department has following structural units:

a) Division of expertise and registration of normative acts.

b) Unit of Coordination of Territorial bodies of the Ministry of Justice in Autonomous Republic of Adjara.

c) Unit of State Registration.
