Functions of the International Treaty Unit:
-
Prepare drafts of the
international treaties within the competence of the Ministry;
-
Prepare legal conclusions on
the legal outcomes which will arise by the entry into force of the
International Treaties with regard to Georgia;
-
Prepare proposals about
participation in the International treaties within the competence of the
Ministry;
-
Prepare legal conclusions on
the documents that will be discussed on the meetings of organs of the
Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS);
-
Prepare legal conclusions on
the legal outcomes which will arise by the termination or suspension of
the International treaties with regard to Georgia;
-
Prepare proposals on the
termination or suspension of the International treaties within the
competence of the ministry.

International Treaty Unit is guided by the following legal documents:
1. The Constitution of Georgia; 2.
1969 Vienna Convention “On the Law of Treaties”; 3. Law of Georgia “On the Law of International Treaties of Georgia”; 4. Other Legal Acts of Georgia; 5.
