State Representative to the European Court of Human Rights
The Representative’s Office performs the important function of the Ministry;
the Office represents Georgia to the European Court of Human Rights.
The main objectives of the Office are to:
· Defend state interests in the Court;
· Elaborate governmental review concerning appeals;
· Supervise enforcement of judgments of the Court;
· Supervise fulfillment of recommendations of the Council of Europe.
The Office arranges and the Ministry submits to the Government of Georgia
the initiatives on harmonization of Law of Georgia with requirements of the
European Convention on Human Rights.
The State Representative is also responsible for popularization of the
Convention, its Protocols and case law.
