The Civil Affairs Department is structural unit of the ministry of Justice and is responsible for following issues:

• Naturalization

• Restoration of Citizenship

• Confirmation of Citizenship

• Granting Citizenship to Foreigners

• Administrative Denaturalization

• Denaturalization

• Residence permission

• Immigration

• Deportation of foreign citizens and/or apatrides from Georgia

The functions of the Department are:

• Coordination and management of notary activity;

• Supervision of notaries;

• Registration of legal entities (political parties, creative unions);

• Management of registers of political parties and creative unions; licenses and permissions; and monitoring bodies.
